Stephen Jin Soon Lee was born in West Sumatra, Indonesia on March 28, 1927 and he passed away at the age of 89 years old on March 3, 2017 in Merced, California where he was a resident for 42 years.

Stephen had previously lived in Singapore, where he met and fell in love with his wife. They married in 1951 and he started his career as a bookkeeper. He worked with Scandinavian Airlines for approximately 20 years. After courageously immigrating to the U.S. in 1975 with his wife and six children he began working...

Stephen Jin Soon Lee was born in West Sumatra, Indonesia on March 28, 1927 and he passed away at the age of 89 years old on March 3, 2017 in Merced, California where he was a resident for 42 years.

Stephen had previously lived in Singapore, where he met and fell in love with his wife. They married in 1951 and he started his career as a bookkeeper. He worked with Scandinavian Airlines for approximately 20 years. After courageously immigrating to the U.S. in 1975 with his wife and six children he began working with Wood Fruit Company as a bookkeeper, where he worked for the next 20 years until his retirement.

Stephen and his wife enjoyed traveling and had the oppurtunity to visit several countries in their earlier years. He was an avid member of St. Patrick's Church in Merced. He will always be remembered for his love and pride of his children and grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to Joe and his team of caregivers that made the last 2 years of his life comfortable.

Stephen is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Bertha Lee; parents, Tiang Tjoan Lie and So Kim Nio Whie and his son Joseph Lee.

He is survived by his children, Anthony Lee, Philomena Abrescy (Glenn) of Merced, Christina Murphy (Tom) of Cressey, Gerard Lee of Texas and Vincent Lee (Charles) of New York; grandchildren, Sean Soto of Atwater, Christopher Abrescy (Kelli) of Merced, Andrew "Duffy" Murphy of Cressey and Samantha Murphy of Fresno; he also leaves behind his great grandchild, Carter Abrescy.

Per the family request, services will be private.
