Anthony "Tony" Edward Nush, a resident of Merced for 48 years, passed away Saturday the 29th of July, 2017 at the age of 56.
Tony was born on May 1st 1961 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to Robert and Kathleen Nush. In 1969, Tony along with his mother and six siblings; four brothers: Robert, Mark, Daniel and Brian, and two sisters: Mary Lou and Karena moved to Merced when their father Robert was stationed at Castle A.F.B.

Tony was someone full of integrity, honesty and trustworthy; a true confidant. He was known for his wittiness and his dry and sometimes literal sarcasm. An amazing husband to Alicia Nush for nearly 36 years, a great father to his son's and daughter and a loving grandfather who enjoyed having his grandkids over daily. Tony ran cross country and track in high school. His characteristics were very determined, very driven and loyal to his friend's, brother's and sister's.
He was a faithful and cheerful volunteer for the "Run for the Fallen" for the past six years and recently started hosting foreign exchange students.
Tony was full of knowledge, wisdom and understanding of the word of God and a great teacher. He was a devoted member of the Apostolic Tabernacle for nearly 36 years where he taught Sunday School, participated in Mt. Bullion Prison Ministry and taught inmates how to study the word of God. Tony in the last five in a half years taught a new converts "Follow Me" class; he also worked side-by-side with his wife ministering to the deaf Community for 20 years.
Everyone that came across Tony knew him as an intelligent man. This resulted in his business Energy Wise Home and Property Inspections, which was founded in 2013, from his knowledge and passion gained over 20 years of training and certifications in energy efficiency and weatherization.
Anthony "Tony" Edward Nush was an anchor to the ship, the foundation of a house, a pillar on a palace, the steel beams of a skyscraper... he will be truly missed and his legacy will live on.

Tony is preceded in death by his father, Robert Nush, brother, Mark Nush and son Tony Nush. He is survived by his wife Alicia Nush and three children: Mark Nush, Leslie Nush and Evan Nush, a daughter-in-law Esther Nush and five grandchildren: Aiden Pangelina, Avarielle Pangelina-Nush, Eamon Pangelina, Hadassah Nush and Asher Nush of Merced; five siblings: Robert Nush of Roseville, Daniel Nush of Vacaville, Brian Nush of Kansas, Mary-Lou Nush of Texas, Karena Nush of Temecula, his mother Kathleen Nush of Turlock and stepmother Nevora Nush of Merced.
